The Business & Human Rights Resourse Centre (BHRRC) released its quarterly report on corporate legal accountability for human rights, featuring highlights from its ongoing blog series on the UN’s proposed binding treaty on business and human rights.

Congratulations to Centro de los Derechos del Migrante (CDM) which has been selected as the winner of this year’s Outten & Golden annual PIC Award. CDM is being honored for its efforts to empower migrant workers to defend and protect their rights, as they move between their home communities and their workplaces in the U.S. 

Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST) is recognizing its third anniversary by having team members share what they see as some of FAST’s key accomplishments and lessons learned.

The African Philanthropy Forum held its first in-person conference in Kigali, Rwanda Oct 24-25 focused on African Philanthropists Closing the Gender Gap. The forum seeks to break down silos and create foundations for collective action that involves victims, businesses, civil society, and states. 

HU Senior Director for Peacebuilding, Jesse Eaves, will speak at Build Peace conference, a global conference and community of practice that explores emergent challenges to peace in a digital age, and peacebuilding innovations to address these challenges. Jesse will facilitate a workshop with three HU grantees from the US, the Great Lakes region of Africa, and Colombia using storytelling and art to provide deeper insight into one of the most important yet invisible and misunderstood concepts in peacebuilding: governance. 

Melanie Greenberg, HU Managing Director for Peacebuilding, will join former Colombian President and Nobel Laureate, Juan Manuel Santos, along with other distinguished guests in a conversation on how we can combine efforts to protect nature and build peace. Participants will discuss lessons from the Colombian peace agreement. Join in person or online on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. ET.
