John – if you’re following the battle for the U.S. Senate, you know that Democrats are tied or leading in swing states like the ones above.

But let me be blunt here: Those CANNOT be the only races you’re focused on. Regardless of who wins the Senate, it’s the governors, secretaries of state, and state legislatures who will determine both whether people have the right to choose and whether America continues to be a democracy.

And many of those races are balanced on a knife’s edge:

As the NDRC’s Political Strategist, I can assure you that Salon is correct. It won’t be much of a victory if Democrats end up holding the Senate and House, but Republican governors and secretaries of state can use their power to overturn the results of the 2024 election!
