The Supreme Court believes in “separate and unequal”

Plaskett for Congress

Hey team,

Did you hear the news?

The Supreme Court has just reinforced a deep injustice that U.S. territory residents are far too familiar with: in the eyes of the law, we are still kept “separate and unequal.” The Insular Cases are a racist relic of the past that treat American Samoans and the rest of our territory residents like second-class citizens, and they have no place in present-day America.

As frustrating and disheartening as this decision is, this fight is far from over. The fight for racial equity and justice is ongoing, and that is a fight I am committed to every single day in Congress.

But I need your help so I can keep it up. If we lose our Democratic majority to MAGA Republicans in the upcoming election, we will not be able to do what needs to be done to tackle systemic racism and give Virgin Islanders and other disadvantaged Americans the fair playing field they deserve.

We’re running out of time until the election, so we need to build as much momentum as we can now to keep the House blue. Can you chip in now to help me defend our majority and defeat MAGA Republicans?
