But if not, let me explain a bit about this campaign.

My team and I have talked a lot about how vital winning this race is for protecting our Democratic House majority. But I’m not just asking for your support because of the (D) next to my name. I’m asking you to invest in this movement because of what I stand for, and my record of delivering for Coloradans.

So here are three things I’d like you to know about me:

1) There aren’t a lot of people with my life experience in Congress. I started cleaning houses when I was just 12 years old, worked behind the counter at a bagel shop, pushed carts at a grocery store, and waited tables at restaurant after restaurant.

So when I say I’m fighting for the regular people whose needs too often go overlooked by politicians who have no idea what it’s like to struggle to pay their bills — I really mean it.

2) I know how to get things done, and I have the record to prove it. As a State Legislator, I’ve fought to expand early childhood education and make kindergarten free, lower the cost of health insurance and prescription drugs, guarantee a woman’s right to choose, and help folks struggling with substance use disorder access treatment and recovery services.

3) I will fight like hell for our fundamental rights. If Republicans retake Congress, they will target the right to choose, the right to vote, and the right of LGBTQ+ folks to live free from discrimination and violence. I’m running to make sure they don’t succeed.
