Hello Friends,
As Heritage continues to grow and shape the movement under the leadership of Dr. Kevin Roberts <[link removed]>. Many have commented that they see a noticeable change. There is no question things are changing, and we believe the best is yet to come <[link removed]>.
What does the best look like? We see a united conservative movement, energizing Americans everywhere, serving one another, and
looking outside of DC for answers to our most serious challenges.
We may still be weeks away from seeing a fresh opportunity for conservatives on Capitol Hill, but under the tutelage of Dr. Roberts, the Heritage Foundation has been laying the groundwork for the dominance of a new generation of conservatism.
As we push to reduce the size and influence of the Washington leviathan and return power back to the cornerstones of our communities – families, churches, state and local governments, and people-powered markets – The Heritage Foundation is looking outside of Washington, DC for answers.
The Heritage Foundation Outreach Team has been charged with ensuring these lofty goals are realized, we want to paint you a picture each week of who Heritage is, and how our outreach continues to build on the incredible Heritage legacy. So let’s start now:
Heritage Is…
ON OFFENSE:
The Heritage Oversight Project scores a big win, as recently obtained FOIA request
reveals the actual story behind the long-debunked Del Rio “whipping” scandal <[link removed]> (TWEET <[link removed]>).
ON YOUR SIDE:
With the legalization of recreational marijuana in 2012, and a ballot proposal to legalize
psychedelic mushroom <[link removed]>s (and other drugs) this November, it is time to take a serious look at the rise in crime while standing for law and order. Case and point: the Colorado Bureau of Investigation says that property crime is up 20 percent and auto theft is up 86 percent between 2019 and 2021. We agree with our friends at Centennial Institute <[link removed]> that it’s no coincidence with the rise of drugs, comes a rise in crime. In addition, we are very concerned with lawless rogue prosecutors <[link removed]> circumventing elected representatives to implement their agenda. You can watch the Crime and Drug symposium at Centennial Institute mentioned above here! <[link removed]>
We will continue to seek opportunities to partner, and bolster the hard work being done. Thanks to Jeff Hunt and all the great staff at Centennial Institute for partnering.

This week, Heritage Outreach team will partner with the Center for Christian Virtue for a SOLD-OUT event <[link removed]> in Liberty Township, Ohio. We will focus on how the Biden Administration’s broken border policies are making every state in the USA a border state, and how we can link arms as a movement to pushback.
ON THE RECORD:
Heritage Explains is LIVE – Following up on our work to promote strong families, Jay Richards joined to give us a round-up of all that is at stake this election
season. You can watch the hard-hitting interview here <[link removed]>.
See our work promoting school choice <[link removed]> in the states with this recent op-ed featuring Heritage President, Kevin Roberts, and Heritage Action for America Executive Director, Jessica Anderson.
We are very excited to continue our work alongside our friends. Please keep us posted on your victories and also areas we can partner.
Until next week,
-Tim Doescher
