Hi John,
You spoke up and we listened.
Over the last several weeks, we have had conversations with elected officials, NALpista alumni, and community leaders—people like you—about what you want our upcoming events and programming to look like. What we heard is that between the stress of the final weeks of the election and the strain of inflation, our communities are in need of some serious self care.
That’s why for this year, instead of gathering together in Washington, DC for our New American Hero Awards and Power and Policy Summit, we are postponing our events until 2023 and encouraging our NAL family and community to recharge.
We plan to announce our 2023 training schedule in the coming weeks and will be in touch soon with more details on what our postponed events will look like. But for the remainder of 2022, we encourage you to join us in taking time to reflect, recharge, and reinvest in your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. Remember: self care isn’t selfish. It is essential to our democracy strengthening work!
Looking forward to seeing you next year and sharing some exciting updates in the coming weeks.
In solidarity,
Ghida Dagher
