Dear friends,

Today would have been PIH co-founder Dr. Paul Farmer’s 63rd birthday. While many of us feel a heightened awareness of his absence today, it also presents an opportunity to celebrate the life of our visionary friend and the dedication his example inspired in us. 

Today, we’re choosing to honor Paul exactly how he would have wanted: with action.

As Paul taught us, we need to think systemically and replace structures of violence with ones of justice and care to achieve health equity. That’s why 2,250 PIHers have already reached out to their representatives in Congress to encourage them to pass the Dr. Paul Farmer Memorial Resolution–the most ambitious global health bill ever introduced. Join us in honoring Paul’s legacy with action, it just takes two minutes.

Paul used to say that his students were his retirement plan. Instead, we became his legacy. Together, we’re following the roadmap he left us, and growing his legacy with each act of care and solidarity.
