John – we’re about to ask you to rush $5 to our battleground campaign before our final end-of-month deadline of the election – but first, there are three things you should know:

• On the heels of last night’s debate, we’re seeing an influx of outside GOP cash. We need to fight back against Republicans’ attacks ASAP or we risk ceding the airwaves to them in the final two weeks of this race.
• The Washington Post endorsed Elaine’s re-election campaign, so now all eyes are on us. The press will be using our fundraising numbers as an indicator of whether we have what it takes to keep this seat blue.
• We’re falling $25,924 short of our end-of-month goal. If we don’t close the gap, it could spell disaster for the outcome of this battleground race.
