Everything is on the line in 2020. Will you help?

Dear Friend,
As I reflect on everything that the faith-based social justice movement has accomplished this year, I cannot help but be in awe of the dedicated witness of people of faith. This fall as I engaged in more than 40 events in 28 cities across the country, I met hundreds of people, and spoke to thousands on the gospel message of truth and loving our neighbor as framed in my book Christ in Crisis: Why We Need to Reclaim Jesus. I met so many wonderful people who are doing what God has called them to do to make a positive change.
And now as we look to 2020, which will be a pivotal year on all of the things we care about, we need your help with two overarching priorities that will affect everything:

1. Changing the conversation on faith and politics in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election
2. Voter protection and voter turnout in cities and states where free and fair elections are at risk
Sojourners voice, mobilizing communities across the country, and solutions journalism is needed more than ever leading into 2020. This is only the beginning of a long, hard road-and we can't go it alone and need for you to journey with us. We'll equip you with resources, toolkits, and ways to network with other like-minded justice-seekers. Will you walk with us? Give today: [link removed]

We are increasing our justice work like never before, planning gatherings and rapid-response actions across the country, to better equip you, your church, and your community to take action.
Here is just a sample of the work you will support, with your year-end gift today:

* We are demanding, through our Lawyers & Collars Voter Engagement and Protection Program, that all citizens have a right to a free and fair vote. A multiracial, faith-inspired effort designed to protect and expand access to voting by pairing clergy and legal professionals at the polls, Lawyers & Collars launched in 2018 and is expanding for the 2020 elections.
* We are equipping faith leaders, activists, and their communities with the resources they need to build sustainable and intersectional justice movements through the launch of
SojoAction, a mobilizing platform and community where you can engage and make a difference.
* We are supporting faith leaders on the ground, particularly Latinx and African-American pastors, as they tackle critical justice issues-xenophobia, anti-immigration policies, and racialized policing-that are present in their ministry contexts through our Thriving in Ministry program.
* We are standing up to those who abuse and misuse the name of Jesus and the Christian faith for personal, corporate, or political gain, declaring that there is no gospel, or good news, unless all people are respected, honored, and cared for.
But this work is not all that Sojourners is-we are also a community. And you can trust that in 2020, Sojourners will continue ministering to our community, serving as a home for those who feel spiritually and even politically homeless, and offering you a prophetic voice for truth and justice.
We believe that there is strength in community-and together with our community of sojourners, you have the capacity to help our nation find its soul and turn the radical, political, conversation-shifting teachings of Jesus into a national conversation.
Please consider giving a special year-end gift today, and together we can continue the work of transforming this crisis into an opportunity for renewal, restoration, and radical love: [link removed]
