Team,

As a first-time candidate, I wouldn't consider myself a seasoned campaign operative. But one thing I have learned is that knocking on doors is one of the best ways to reach voters. Aside from being able to give away free weather forecasts, it's a chance to hear directly from voters about the challenges we all face.

This week, we heard a lot about how prices are going up. On top of that the costs of housing, health care, and education continue to rise. I hear peoples' frustrations, because truth be told, I'm dealing with them too. We have work to do, and the economy cannot be treated like political football being thrown back and forth. And banning books and outlawing abortion certainly isn't helping!

I'm ready to take concrete action to make sure our federal government takes steps to lowering costs. That means fighting for policies like allowing Medicare to negotiate with the pharmaceutical companies to bring down costs. It also means fighting for higher-paying jobs and making sure businesses stay in Illinois.

As much as I wish I could knock every door, it simply isn't feasible. That's why we're running ads, sending out mailers, and getting our yard signs up across the district. There's still plenty of time for your dollars to go a long way! If you can, chip in a donation of $5 today.

Thanks in advance.
