I’m Isaac, Hillary’s Digital Director this cycle.

Just about a month ago, I watched along with the rest of the country as the House passed the Respect for Marriage Act. Like hundreds of thousands of other LGBTQ+ Americans, I was relieved that our elected officials were working to protect our rights.

However, one number continues to stick with me: 157. That’s how many House Republicans voted against codifying same-sex marriage and interracial marriage into federal law. In 2022.

This is why this race is so important to me. I know John Gibbs will do everything he can to limit and restrict my right to marry who I love.

The only way we can win this race is if people like you chip in to elect Hillary in November. Can I count on you to give $5 right now to help us secure a pro-LGBTQ+ majority in 2022? ([link removed])

I know Hillary will fight every day to defend the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans. She is committed to being an ally – and she spent much of her career fighting for LGBTQ+ housing equality in Grand Rapids.

This race is so important. The road to holding the House majority – and codifying marriage equality into law – runs through West Michigan.

We’ll only be able to flip this seat blue with your help, so thanks for being on our team!

— Isaac
