I'm reaching out today to ask if you will chip in $5 or $10 to Summer Lee's people-powered campaign for Congress. But first, let me give you three reasons why we all need to support Summer.
- Summer is a real leader for working families and everyday people in Western Pennsylvania. In the state legislature, she's fought against GOP attacks on our democracy and for her community.
- A major super PAC is spending over $3 million attacking Summer over TV. I've seen the ads, and let me tell you, they're downright nasty.
- With each attack ad, this race is getting more competitive. Election experts at Sabato's Crystal Ball recently downgraded Summer's chances of winning this election.
Will you rush a $5 donation to support Summer's campaign today? Every dollar will go directly to fighting back against millions of dollars worth of super PAC attacks flooding the airwaves.
John, it's no secret that Pennsylvania is a battleground state — or that the last several elections have been unbelievably close. The last few statewide elections have come down to just tens of thousands of votes.
Here's what that means in practice: We cannot take a single election or vote for granted. We can't assume PA-12 will stay blue. Not when Summer's GOP opponent is attempting to hide the fact he's a Republican to confuse people into voting for him.
Summer's team has been working around the clock to reach the voters who will decide this election. But we need to have each other's backs. Summer and I are both committed to helping elect Democrats up and down the ballot in Pennsylvania, so I'm asking:
