Here are some updates from today. |
Yesterday evening, also in Arizona, the Cochise County Board of Supervisors voted to adopt a proposal to conduct a hand count audit of all of its ballots in this year’s elections. Today, Hobbs asked Cochise County to provide further information about its plans to conduct a hand count audit of all ballots by 8 p.m. EDT (5 p.m. local Arizona time) tomorrow or the county risks litigation.

The groups who sued Clean Elections USA and its vigilante drop box watchers in Arizona asked the court to immediately prohibit these individuals from further intimidating voters. A hearing on this request is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. EDT (1 p.m. local Arizona time). This case is expected to move quickly.

The Nevada Supreme Court affirmed a lower court’s decision that allowed hand-counting guidance to remain in place for the 2022 midterm elections. However, since no county submitted plans to primarily hand count ballots by the Oct. 9 deadline, this order doesn’t change any planned methods of vote counting across the state. Nye County plans to hand count its ballots in addition to using electronic tabulation.
