John,
Elections have consequences — and the new session of the Supreme Court reflects that as it decides on FOUR critical climate policy cases.
With the court dominated by ultra-conservatives, opponents of climate progress are counting on the justices to rule in their favor.
The climate-related cases to be heard include:
*
Sackett
v
EPA,
an
attack
on
the
Clean
Water
Act
by
corporate
interests
and
Republican
attorneys
general.
The
case
tries
to
narrow
clean
water
protections,
particularly
with
wetlands;
*
National
Pork
Producers
Council
v
Ross,
which,
while
on
its
face
is
centered
around
the
humane
treatment
of
animals
bred
for
consumption,
could
potentially
threaten
states’
abilities
to
set
their
own
more
ambitious
renewable
energy
targets;
*
Brackeen
v
Haaland
challenges
the
constitutionality
of
the
Indian
Child
Welfare
Act.
The
case
is
a
direct
attack
on
tribal
sovereignty
and
would
remove
obstacles
for
fossil
fuel
companies
dealing
with
Native
land
and
water
rights;
*
Moore
v
Harper
would
allow
state
legislatures
to
be
the
ultimate
arbiter
of
all
election
laws,
with
no
ability
for
courts
to
intervene.
Can
you
just
imagine
what
would
happen
to
federal
climate
policy
if
states
had
that
power?
Corporate special interests and the fossil fuel industry believe the Supreme Court, working hand-in-hand with a Republican-controlled Congress, can end our progress on climate policy and action.
John, we must be ready to fight against any moves of the ultra-conservative court siding with corporations and Big Energy. Can you donate today to help our SEEC members defend our progress from any damage the Court may inflict? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
