My race to be Texas’ next Attorney General is effectively a tie. Recent polling from the Democratic Attorneys General Association shows the margin here is razor thin -- which means we have a REAL chance to win this seat. That’s why I'm fighting tooth and nail to defeat criminally-indicted Ken Paxton until the very last vote is cast. Because Friend, victory is within our grasp. This race is about more than just unseating a criminal whose only concern is lining his own pockets and running from the consequences of his actions. This race is about protecting the civil rights of millions of working families across our state. With some of our most fundamental freedoms at stake -- from abortion access to contraception to marriage equality -- we need a Democrat in power fighting to protect the liberties we hold most dear.

As the state’s public defender, I’d have the power of the Texas Constitution to act as a check to the Texas Republicans hell-bent on taking our state backwards. A Democrat in the Attorney General’s office means that Texans would have a fighter looking out for their best interests, someone who is protecting them -- not someone looking to line their own pocketbooks.

Friend, let’s be real, Ken Paxton is a crook who has spent almost a decade making our state a harder place to live. We can’t tolerate four more years of his failed leadership. That’s why we’re putting every cent we raise towards turning out Texas Democrats across the state. So will you split $7 between my campaign and the Texas Democratic Party to elect a real leader to the Attorney General’s office?
