During Thursday’s debate, Lee Murphy dodged a question about whether or not he would support Senator Lindsey Graham’s nationwide abortion ban. But the rest of his record speaks for itself.
Lee Murphy has spent these last few months celebrating the fall of Roe v. Wade and the destruction of reproductive choice for women. States around the country have implemented bans since the Court’s decision, and Congressional Republicans have made clear that a national ban is a priority for them. Murphy’s support proves that if he goes to Washington, he’ll stand in lockstep with extremist Republicans who aim to make abortion bans the law of the land.
Team, Lee Murphy is completely out of touch with Delawareans. In 2017, Delaware legislators came together to codify abortion access, protecting the right to choose and ensuring that this most personal right remained between a woman and her doctor. Now, Lee wants to go to Washington to follow his party’s destructive path instead of standing by the decision made by our state’s voters. We can’t let him get away with it.
Lee Murphy knows his opinion on abortion is extreme, and that’s why he refuses to give a clear answer on where he stands when pressed on the issue. But our new ad makes sure everyone knows the truth.
