Follow along with us on our road to Election Day, and see what it takes to build competitive campaigns and how we’re bringing real change to Canadians.
Our journey starts In 2015, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team earned a mandate from Canadians with a promise to strengthen the middle class and grow an economy that works for everyone -- and we’re doing just that.
Making sure families get ahead All Canadians deserve an equal and fair chance at success. Offering more money to 9 out of 10 families, the Canada Child Benefit was one of our first steps in government - and just this month, it increased again to keep up with the high cost of raising children!
We’re investing in infrastructure Historic investments in infrastructure are helping Canadians get to where they’re going quicker and more safely, with more than 48,000 infrastructure projects approved. We’re investing in better transit, roads, and bridges from coast to coast to coast.
Protecting a clean environment We’re taking real action to fight climate change, including by putting a price on pollution. We’ve moved forward with Canada’s new Oceans Protection Plan. And this year, Budget 2019 invested to make zero-emission vehicles cheaper and more accessible, and the Liberal team is taking real action to ban harmful single-use plastics by 2021.
Hope and Hard Work along the way Volunteers across Canada have been working hard to connect with Canadians about our positive plan to invest in the middle class, and to hear more about Canadians’ top priorities ahead of this fall’s important election. This month’s National Day of Action was our largest yet before the campaign!
Marking a stop in your community Team Trudeau candidates across the country have been stepping forward to be a voice for their community. Our extraordinary team of 2019 candidates includes veterans, teachers, Indigenous leaders, community advocates, entrepreneurs, scientists, and of course, experienced Parliamentarians – and we can’t wait to keep introducing (and re-introducing!) them to Canadians on the road to Election Day.
The Journey ahead: The 2019 Campaign
The path to Election Day requires no shortage of hope and hard work from Canadians like you. In 2015, we earned a mandate from Canadians on the strength of 4 million conversations and more than 80,000 volunteers. Now, we’re getting ready to do it again! Campaigns are a long road, but getting to Election Day is half the fun! We’ve made real progress for Canadians since 2015, but together, there’s much more to do.
