I wanted to share Robin's message below, because it applies to all of us, not just those who served. We all need to step up right now and do what we can to protect our democracy from those hell-bent on dismantling it.

Dear fellow Vets For The Union:
Today, Oct. 25, marks two weeks to the midterms. It promises to be an election like no other, and I don’t mean that in a positive way.
For weeks, if not months, MAGA extremists, Trumpists and QAnon crazies have recruited volunteers to inject chaos into the voting process. They intend to hijack the system by training aggressive poll watchers to work on Election Day.
They’ve also dispatched thugs, some masked and in battle gear, armed with cameras to take photos and videos of innocent citizens who are legitimately dropping off their ballots. Who knows if that’s all they have in their bag of tricks?
You’ve already served your country honorably. It needs you again, maybe now more than ever. Democracy is on the line, and you know it.
We need as many veteran volunteers as we can get to organize, muster up and sign up to work as poll watchers on Election Day. Voting is patriotism in action and your presence will be voters' first line of defense to help ensure the process goes smoothly and fairly. You can enlist here:

We cannot permit the intimidation of decent Americans who are either going to the polls to vote or dropping off their ballots. Offer them a ride or escort any voter you know who is nervous or fearful. Get friends to help.
Everyone knows you put it all on the line for this country once. Now, democracy needs real patriots like you to answer that call again. Don’t say no.
