I’m reaching out about my friend and the woman I hope will be North Carolina’s next Senator, Cheri Beasley.

We are amazingly fortunate to have a true public servant as our nominee in Cheri Beasley. She understands the concept of putting people first. Public service has been her life's commitment – from public defender to the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court.

She understands that it’s our next Senator's job to be a voice for every single Tar Heel, not just the ones who vote for her. On top of that, she would be North Carolina’s first Black Senator and the only Black woman in the U.S. Senate.

There’s so much that needs to change in our country. We need to defend abortion rights, save our planet, protect the right to vote and our democracy, and level the playing field for the working class.

In a time of deep division, North Carolina can own that change, but we must get involved. So I am asking you to join me:

If you are ready for new leadership in North Carolina, will you please chip in to power Cheri Beasley’s campaign to victory? With two weeks until Election Day, and with so much at stake, we just have to stick together and do the work.
