We're actively preparing for the cold months ahead.

It's almost winter, which means temperatures will soon drop at both our California and New York sanctuaries. As the weather changes, our rescued residents' needs increase. We're actively preparing for the harsh weather so it won't pose a threat to our community of animal friends.

Cows can slip on icy roads. Goats with chronic medical conditions need extra food to stay healthy. Your love for Farm Sanctuary and the animals we serve will give us the support we need to keep over 700 rescued animals safe and warm this winter.

Supply chain issues and icy weather can delay food, medication, hay deliveries, and maintenance projects around our sanctuaries. But, with your help, we can implement winter protocols and get ready by stocking up on food and supplies, winterizing water
lines, ensuring warmth in our barns and unpacking winter coats so our sanctuary animals won't be cold.

We're keeping costs as low as we can, but we still need your support.

Please help us prepare our sanctuaries for winter and continue to rescue and shelter farm animals in need. Support our 2022 Winter Farm Maintenance Fund by joining Farm Sanctuary with a gift today.

Your gift will help us care for animals like Hans - a goat with a history of bladder stones. Hans was found roaming the streets, likely after escaping slaughter. He spent a brief
time at a humane society while shelter workers searched for a permanent home. Then, he developed bladder stones and needed surgery. Since we are located near a large animal hospital and have experience monitoring animals with Hans' condition, shelter workers asked if we could take on his care should his symptoms reoccur.

Generosity from caring friends like you allows us to provide ongoing, individualized care for animals like Hans.

We make a promise to care for and protect the animals we rescue for the rest of their lives, including during the harshest winters. And, thanks to you, this friendly, playful goat will spend the rest of his life in peace and freedom.

We're hard at work preparing our sanctuaries for the treacherous months ahead so animals like Hans can stay warm and cozy all winter long. We're securing heating
supplies so drinking water lines don't freeze, closing down faraway pastures, and setting up snowplow markers. We've already ordered $10,000 of materials to ensure walking paths are accessible to all residents and ensure their safety.
