Dear John,
How should we Christians live in a culture that is increasingly hostile to followers of Jesus Christ who see the Bible as the guidebook for life?
How do we persevere in a nation that was founded on religious liberty but now sees many trying to silence religious beliefs in the public square because of Christianity's "intolerant" view that there are moral absolutes?
You might feel the urgency in the answers to these questions.
We live in a time of cultural challenges. But I am encouraged because I know this message is reaching a remnant of God's people who are resolved to stand for biblical truth in America.
"Remnant" is defined as "a trace remaining or a small surviving group." Scripture contains many examples of remnants that remained faithful to God despite the faithlessness of those around them:
- In 1 King 19, God informs the prophet Elijah that He had 7,000 followers who had not bowed their knees to Baal.
- In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stand when everyone else bows to the king's statue.
- In Matthew 24, when Jesus warns His disciples of the signs of His second coming and that the end is near, He says, "the love of many would wax cold"--many, but not all.
During times of trial and persecution, God always has a remnant.
For almost four decades, Family Research Council has stood in the public square advancing faith, family, and freedom. We stand with you--committed to biblical truth--so you don't have to stand alone. Together, we can turn the tide.
When you partner with FRC, your gift helps us provide believers with biblical analysis on breaking news, insight into policy debates, resources to deepen their spiritual walk, and materials to help them reach their families, neighbors, and communities with the truth.
Will you consider a gift to help FRC strengthen the remnant of Bible believers in America?
PARTNER WITH FRC
Time and again, God has used a remnant that stands in obedience to His Word--and we are seeing examples of this even today.
Andrew Fox served for eight years as chaplain of the Austin Fire Department. Last December, despite his exemplary conduct, Fox was dismissed for writing on his personal blog about contemporary issues of gender, sexuality, and social justice from a biblical perspective.
Fox was informed that his blog had offended some LGBT members of the department. After agreeing to meet with an LGBT liaison, Fox unpublished his blog while respectful discussions continued. Upon making his blog public again, the Austin Fire Department demanded that Fox write a public apology letter. But after submitting two drafts, the department fired him because he refused to recant his biblical beliefs.
It's alarming but not surprising.
Radical secularists have become increasingly militant--guided by their disdain for biblical truth--and are now demanding allegiance to woke ideology.
Last March, nurse practitioner Paige Casey was fired by her employer, CVS, for her religious conviction regarding abortion. Casey was open about her Catholic faith before she was hired and, for over three years, CVS Minute Clinic accommodated her religious beliefs that prevented her from prescribing abortion-inducing drugs.
Casey's personal stance did not affect any patient's ability to receive the drugs. Yet, CVS shamelessly fired Casey despite her stellar work performance because she believes--like millions of other Americans--that life begins at conception and therefore she cannot be a part of ending that life.
At FRC, we are thankful that our good friends at Alliance Defending Freedom are defending Andrew Fox and Paige Casey's constitutional right to exercise their religious convictions. Both of these cases should stir righteous indignation among Christians and all who value freedom of speech and religion--the very foundations of free societies like ours.
But God will always preserve and sustain a remnant of His people who are faithful to His truth despite opposition. Will you be a part of that remnant and join FRC through prayer and a generous gift?

Strengthening the remnant starts with you and your voice in the public square!
At this year's Pray Vote Stand Summit, Pastor Gary Hamrick encouraged Christians when he stated, "We [the church] are the restraining force that God has placed on the earth against the rise of evil."
While it may seem like standing for truth is a losing battle in the culture, make no mistake: that's exactly what the enemy of our soul wants you to believe.
Just look at what happened in California, when a group of churches prevailed in court against a government mandate to cover elective abortions with their health insurance plan. Despite collaboration between a state government agency and Planned Parenthood, a federal court ruled in favor of the churches, finding that California's law is unconstitutional.
And let's not forget, it was the prayers and dedication of millions of Christians that helped end the tyranny of Roe to save unborn lives and giving us a chance to rebuild a culture of life in America.
At FRC, we will stand firm during this cultural battle because these issues are biblical, not political.
So, stay strong, keep the faith, and together let's strengthen the remnant to advance biblical truth in America.
