Good morning!

Early voting is underway for the next two weeks for the Nov. 8 general election. A recent national survey found a majority of Americans believe cheating affected the outcome of the 2020 election. I’d like to know what you think in today’s One Click Survey.

What do classroom teachers think of mandating a COVID shot for all students? You’ll learn that, and more, in the Texas Minute for Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022.

Rinaldi’s Recommendation… “Don’t forget to get out and vote ‘No’ on the bond… wherever you are... and whatever bond that might be.” – Matt Rinaldi [[link removed]], chairman of the Republican Party of Texas O’Rourke Tries To Backtrack On Open Borders Push Recent polling shows twice as many Texas voters prefer Gov. Greg Abbott’s border policies over those of Robert “Beto” O’Rourke. Sydnie Henry has the details [[link removed]].

O’Rourke has said that the Texas Guard deployed to the southern border as part of Operation Lone Star—Texas’ border security effort intended to detect and interdict illegal border-crossers—is “a solution in search of a problem.”

Border security is expected to be a losing issue for Democrats this midterm election as the Democrat Party cannot seem to agree whether there is a crisis at all. Meanwhile, citizens are fed up with the current “third-world country” conditions in South Texas. Analysis: TLR Is Protecting Democrats From The Republican Wave As previously noted, the leadership of the big business group Texans for Lawsuit Reform has taken a personal grudge against Attorney General Ken Paxton to new levels. Sources say TLR’s leadership doesn’t like Paxton’s aggressive use of the office in fighting the Biden administration, and is furious that he has been fighting Big Tech.

But while TLR presents itself as a “Republican” entity to draw in massive funds from GOP-friendly businesses, records show [[link removed]] the organization is the top donor to a leftwing Democrat trial lawyer in an open South Texas senate district, which overlaps the congressional seat won by Republican Mayra Flores in a special election this year.

Notably, TLR – founded to oppose the influence of trial lawyers in the Texas Legislature – came out several years ago in favor of school choice. Yet the Democrat they are promoting in South Texas [[link removed]] – trial lawyer Morgan LaMantia – is aligned with the anti-school choice Parent PAC (which is funded by out-of-state teacher unions).

So while the anti-trial lawyer and pro-school choice group is the top donor to an anti-school choice trial lawyer in 2022, TLR has refused [[link removed]] to even criticize the anti-business, leftwing candidate for attorney general.

It’s almost like TLR is trying to protect Democrats from the predicted Republican Wave. Paxton Sues Google

For years, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been going on offense against Big Tech companies. Google has been at the top of Paxton’s list as a leading actor in Big Tech’s manipulation, violation of privacy, and deception. He is taking them to court, yet again. Soli Rice has the details [[link removed]].

“The lawsuit alleges that Google, in yet another violation of Texans’ privacy, has collected millions of biometric identifiers, including voiceprints and records of face geometry, from Texans through its products and services like Google Photos, Google Assistant, and Nest Hub Max,” a statement from Paxton’s office explained. Plurality Of Texas Teachers Oppose COVID Mandate For Kids

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention moved to add the COVID shot to the recommended childhood vaccine schedule, raising questions about what the move would mean for Texas.

Texas Scorecard surveyed more than 100,000 Texas classroom teachers over the weekend, asking if they believed public school students should be required to get the COVID “jab” as recommended by the CDC. Brandon Waltens has the details [[link removed]].

Of the respondents, 32 percent said students should be required to have a COVID shot to enter school. Meanwhile, 42 percent said they were opposed to a COVID mandate for students. 26 percent had no opinion. Problem At The Polls? Maggie Whitt explains [[link removed]] what citizens should do if they encounter a problem at their polling place. She is the State Republican Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 8. A retired teacher, Whitt engages Texans in conservative politics and advocates for secure elections.

Most importantly, writes Whitt [[link removed]]: “Do NOT cast your ballot or leave the polling place until your questions are answered and your issues are resolved.” Number of the Day

Number of registered voters eligible to cast ballots in this year’s general election.

Quote-Unquote

“Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.”

– James Bovard

Today In History

A petition was sent to King George by the First Continental Congress on Oct. 25, 1774, setting forth a set of grievances the American people had with their treatment. Most notable among them were the Intolerable Acts (as the Americans called them) imposed on the colonies in the wake of the Boston Tea Party.
