House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy recently revealed some of his plans for governing if his party takes back control of Congress. He says that Republicans will refuse to raise the debt ceiling unless "wasteful" spending is cut — including, in his mind, for Social Security and Medicare.

Republicans are willing to sabotage the U.S. economy in order to target the retirement security of our seniors. This is outrageous — but if Republicans prevail in seats like VA-10 on Election Day, this will become a reality.
