Let’s talk about it, John. Why is the NDRC working with The States Project to target state legislative races in these five swing states?

➛ Because Democrats have a strong chance to flip legislative chambers in those states.

➛ Which is a huge deal because SCOTUS could give those chambers “nearly absolute power over federal elections” (New York Times)!

➛ So the more seats Democrats can win, the better chance that future elections will be FAIR – no matter what SCOTUS does.

In Arizona, flipping just two state Senate seats would turn the chamber blue. In Michigan, it’s just three state legislative seats. Salon has reported that “Democrats have seized the momentum [on the federal level] – now that needs to flow down-ballot.” We agree, and we’re making it happen!
