This last session of Congress, Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which lowered health care and prescription drug costs.

For those like us who believe health care is a right, this is good news: Democrats capped the cost of insulin for seniors on Medicare at $35 per month. We gave Medicare the negotiating power to lower prescription drug prices. We capped out-of-pocket medical costs for seniors at $2,000 per month. And we capped health care premiums, which will save the average Washington family up to $3,400 per year.

This progress is needed now more than ever, with people and families feeling the effects of the growing cost of living and a tightening economy. It was the result of elected leaders working quietly and diligently to bring down the costs for working families and seniors, and it will make a real difference to thousands of household budgets here in Northwest Washington.

Of course, there is still much to be done to bring down health care costs and ensure that everyone has access to quality, affordable care – which is why Congress must stay focused in the next session.

This is where you come in. All of this progress was made without a single Republican vote. Keeping Congress blue is the key to continuing our efforts to make health care more affordable.

If you value hard work and positive results from elected officials and want to see more of it from Congress, please chip in to my campaign in these final weeks of this critical election.
