Archbishop Anthony Fisher is the ninth Archbishop of Sydney, Australia. He has earned degrees in history and law from the University of Sydney and a doctorate in philosophy from Oxford University. He joined the Dominican Order in 1985 and became a priest in 1991. He currently serves as a Member of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith; Congregation for Oriental Churches; Council for the Synod of Bishops; and an ordinary Member of the Pontifical Academy for Life. He is Vice President of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference and Chair of the Bishops Commission for Catholic Education.
