Friend, We hope you tuned in to our 50 Forward event last Friday! At this historic celebration, SPLC President and CEO Margaret Huang laid out the vision for the organization’s next 50 years by sharing the SPLC’s new vision for racial justice in the South. This vision recognizes that activists and freedom fighters in the South have demonstrated courage and resilience, and we will continue to support the movement for justice despite the challenges we face today. Our Vision for a Just Future in the Next 50 Years is a monumental undertaking, and we hope that Friday’s event demonstrated just how strong our commitment to this strategy is. In our largest, most direct community investment, the SPLC will move its metro Atlanta office to a historically Black community. While the location of a newly constructed office building has not yet been determined, we announced that it will have spaces and programming for the benefit of the area residents, activists and allies. Huang also introduced the SPLC’s rebranding and logo, which will become the new symbol of the SPLC’s vision of a more inclusive, holistic organization and a reflection of the multifaceted nature of its work. The course we have charted is guided by decades of partnership with the communities we fight alongside. Further, it is a testament to the power our movement holds. Supporters like you enable the SPLC to expand our core efforts each year while developing new projects to address this moment’s unique challenges.
