Leora Levy Decries Student Learning Loss, Vows to Fight for CT Students
GREENWICH, CT – COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns caused historic learning loss for America’s school children, according to findings from the National Assessment of Educational Progress. After testing hundreds of thousands of children, the nation’s report card indicates math scores plummeted by their largest margins in the history of the NAEP test, with Black and Hispanic students seeing even bigger decreases than white students.
A mother and political outsider, Republican challenger Leora Levy has been leading the fight for parents in the race for U.S. Senate. Levy issued a statement blaming out-of-touch Dick Blumenthal and DC liberals for keeping schools closed, stunting students’ academic progress.
“Joe Biden, Dick Blumenthal and their special interest allies failed Connecticut school children. Unlike Dishonest Dick who says one thing and does another, I will always stand up to the teachers’ unions and fight to ensure students from all backgrounds are set up for success. Dick Blumenthal had an obligation to fight for parents and their children, yet he failed them every single time it was put to a vote.”
