This year, our organization celebrated its 45th anniversary! 

 

As the nation’s oldest gun violence prevention organization, we at the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) know what it means to fight each and every day to save lives. 

 

Our 45-year commitment to addressing gun violence in ALL ITS FORMS sets us apart. 

 

For 45 years, we have been the most innovative organization in the gun violence prevention movement. CSGV has led the way in developing the Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO), a law that allows law enforcement and/or family members to temporarily remove firearms from a loved one who poses a danger to themselves or others. Today, extreme risk laws are in place in 17 states and the District of Columbia. These laws are saving lives!
