December 30, 2019: The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that there will be 330 million Americans as the New Year of 2020 begins. That’s up a bit from 328 million at the beginning of 2019.[1]

The population keeps growing because there is one new birth in the United States every 8 seconds. Additionally, every 34 seconds, a new migrant moves into the country from somewhere else around the world.[1]

These gains are partially offset by the fact that one American dies every 10 seconds throughout the year.[1]

Put it all together and the U.S. population grows by one person every 18 seconds.[1]

That works out to an average population growth of 200 people every hour of every day all year long.
