John - I’ve been all over the state, talking to thousands of Hoosier voters about what issues matter most to them. 

This past week, I, along with several other wonderful legislators and candidates, am touring Indiana as part of our “Contract with Women” tour. 

What’s our contract with women you ask? Great question. 

Issues of special concern for women — healthcare, childcare, economic and educational standards — are addressed in the “Contract with Women,” but foremost is an affirmation of a woman’s right to be in control of her own body.

I am running against Senator Todd Young, who voted to confirm three Supreme Court justices who helped overturn Roe v. Wade. Young was in favor of Indiana’s ban on abortion, and thinks there should be no exceptions in the case of rape, incest, or the health of the mother.

The day that the Dobbs decision leaked I thought about my mom who was very involved in this fight back in the early 1970s. I thought about my wife and my daughter who have fewer rights than their mothers had. It was a very sad day. We have to stand with the women in our lives in this fight.

The GOP overreached, they stripped rights from more than half the population, and now we have to make them pay for that decision at the polls. 

Our campaign is polling less than 2 points behind Todd Young. Which goes to show you, you don’t need millions of dollars, special interest groups, or the backing of the extremists in the GOP to win Indiana. You need a hard-working, down-to-Earth Hoosier who listens to the people and acts accordingly. 

Todd Young’s days are numbered in the Senate—early voting has already begun around Indiana, and in just 15 short days, Hoosiers will cast their final votes for the next US Senator from Indiana.
