Dear John,

You might have seen our email of last week, launching an urgent appeal for the drought in the Horn of Africa.

People in the Horn of Africa are facing the worst drought in 40 years. Health Poverty Action is raising funds to ensure that we can continue to do what the people in these communities need.

We must act in solidarity with people across the globe. Watch this video from Health Poverty Action’s Country Director for Somaliland, where he outlines the issues we face.

Health Poverty Action doesn’t only respond to crises, we also speak on the issues that matter, to tackle the causes of disasters and inequality. The global community should have acted yesterday on climate change. We are now seeing the consequences of this inaction.

The most marginalised communities are disproportionately impacted yet are consistently excluded from the conversation. By supporting Health Poverty Action, you are not only helping tackle the immediate effects of inequality, but also ensuring that we can advocate at the global level for impactful change.

Donate £5 – enough to cover the cost of fuel for local health teams visiting remote communities. [[link removed]]

Please contribute whatever you can to this appeal. Large or small, your contribution is immensely appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Tadesse Kassaye

Head of Programmes: Africa
