Michigan has an abortion ban from 1931 that outlaws abortion even in the case of rape or incest. It’s an outdated law that is endangering the lives of Michigan women in every corner of the state – and thankfully for Michigan, AG Dana Nessel has been fighting in the trenches for them in court and at the ballot box.
With anti-abortion rights advocates like Matt DePerno on the ballot, we need to take action to reelect Dana Nessel this year. DePerno wants to go even further than Michigan’s antiquated law by banning abortion even when the patient’s life is at risk, and even banning Plan B, a morning-after emergency contraception pill.
We have a choice to make about what sort of country we want to be. In order to continue to empower our constituents with the freedom to make their own choices about their own bodies, we need to have the right leaders in office.
