During Rivalry Week, Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II issued competing proclamations declaring October 24 through October 29 after their respective alma maters. Governor Whitmer declared this week as Go Green! Week, while Lt. Governor Gilchrist chose Go Blue! Week ahead of Saturday?s rivalry game between Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.? ? ?Few Michigan traditions are more treasured than watching the Spartans and Wolverines battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy,? said Governor Gretchen Whitmer. ?I hope every Michigander will gather with friends and family and break out the green and white or maize and blue.
