John —
If we’re going to successfully move the needle on the issues that matter to all of us, then we need to win back the Senate.
And winning back the Senate involves winning in North Carolina.
So I'm asking you directly: Can you please chip in to help Cal Cunningham in his fight to flip a Senate seat in 2020? His team is coming up on a big fundraising deadline, and your help will go a long way.
Together, we can make the Senate be a more productive place, one where we work together to solve the problems that too many of our friends and neighbors in Virginia and North Carolina face. There are steps we can take right now to help folks in our communities and around the country -- like making higher education more affordable and expanding access to health care. I’m pushing for progress on issues like these. But I can’t do it alone.
That’s why we need Cal in the U.S. Senate. Cal has dedicated his career to serving others, in the U.S. Army Reserve, in the State Senate, and in his community in North Carolina. That spirit of service is exactly what we should have in the Senate right now.
Cal’s victory would go a long way toward securing a Democratic majority in 2020. And he’s got the momentum -- three polls have him ahead, election forecasters are rating the race a “toss-up,” and Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight lists North Carolina among the states with the most vulnerable Republican senators.
But Cal won’t win without our help. If you can, pitch in to support his campaign before the upcoming fundraising deadline.
Thank you for all you're doing,
Tim Kaine
U.S. Senator, Virginia
