"Be kind and have good manners."
That's the philosophy that Trudy lives by, John. It's how she raised her kids. It's how she's running this campaign. And, when we win in November, it's how she's going to serve Missouri in the Senate. But if our opponent, Eric Schmitt, makes it to Washington, he's just going to be another extremist with no manners and not an ounce of kindness.
So many of the problems that our country faces stem from how divided we are. And it's no mystery why we find ourselves increasingly at odds with our neighbors, friends, and family.
Our leaders are supposed to bring us together; to encourage kindness, respect, and open, honest discussion. But instead, extremist hacks like Eric Schmitt dedicate their careers to sowing division and reaping the political benefits.
Eric Schmitt isn't in this because he wants to make life better for Missourians. He in it to better himself – even if that means selling out family farms to Chinese companies, turning his back of folks who rely on prescription drugs, and taking the right to choose away millions of Missourians.
In short, Eric Schmitt represents everything wrong with Washington – the corruption, cold political ambition, and the dangerous extremism that ignores all reason. But I promise you, John, that Trudy will be different. If there is one thing that sets this campaign apart from others, it's our genuine, full-hearted commitment to hope, kindness, and integrity.
So this fall, you have a choice to make. Will you send more extremists to Washington who will lead with selfishness over kindness, or will you choose something better? Today, I'm asking you to choose kindness by pitching in $5 or whatever you can spare tonight to send a nurse's heart and mind to the Senate and bring real compassion to Washington.

Together, I know that we can not only defend our Senate majority, but also win families the true leadership they're counting on.
Thanks so much,
Alex Witt (Trudy's campaign manager)
