When I posed for the top picture as a first-year student at the Naval Academy, I couldn’t have imagined where I’d end up in the bottom photo: a 20-year Navy vet and Congresswoman.
The only thing that hasn’t changed is my love for my country and the ideals we stand for as Americans. And when they’re threatened, I’m always going to put up a fight.
That’s why I joined the Navy, served as a nuclear officer, and commanded a combat-ready unit. It’s why I decided to run for Congress. And it’s why I took action to hold the Capitol insurrectionists accountable, despite the political risk.
Defending our democracy is the most important work of my life, and I’ll be damned if a small faction of right-wing extremists tear it all down at our expense.
Our only option is to vote in historic numbers to reject MAGA ideology. But a brand-new poll proved that I’m still neck-and-neck with my right-wing opponent, and Republicans are doing everything possible to stop us from pulling ahead.
We’re not out of the game yet, but we need significant resources to organize voters across Coastal Virginia.
John, will you contribute $25 to help me defeat my radical pro-Trump opponent next month? The future of our democracy depends on battleground races like mine.
