John, we’re just 16 days away from Election Day.
It fills our hearts to see how energized this people-powered movement is to keep Cori in Congress. We’re overwhelmed to see how many of you posted online to show your support for Cori and have pledged to help our campaign leading up to November 8.
When Cori first ran for Congress, the establishment wrote us off. The wealthy and powerful didn’t think that an everyday person who shares our struggles — someone like Cori — could be elected to office. There are not many members of Congress who’ve had the lived experience of being evicted, living in their car, or even living paycheck to paycheck.
But that’s exactly why it was so important for us to send Cori to Congress.
It's everyday people who should be driving our politics and pushing for the solutions that matter most to folks like us, John, not corporate-bought politicians.
People power is the reason why we were able to defeat a 20-year incumbent and send the first Black woman and first activist from the movement in defense of Black lives to represent Missouri to Congress. And people power is how we’re going to make sure Cori stays in office.
That’s why today we’re reaching out to ask for your personal endorsement. By adding your name, you’re sending a powerful message that there’s a grassroots movement rising up to help keep Cori in Congress.
Together we’ve made so much progress already in Cori’s first term in office — but our work isn't finished yet.
People are still going without the medical care they need. Folks in St. Louis are still struggling to make ends meet. And as our neighbors are still trying to recover from the historic recent flooding, it’s clear that the climate crisis continues to threaten us all. We need to pass critical, life-saving legislation including the Helping Families Heal Act, Medicare for All, the Green New Deal for Cities, and the People's Response Act — families and future generations are counting on us.
Everyone is watching our campaign to see if we have what it takes. Let’s show them we’re ready to rise up with Cori in this work: Your signature shows your support for passing universal health care, ending the cycle of police violence in our communities, and lifting up everyday families in our country.
Thank you for all of your support.
