Americans spend more of their GDP on healthcare than any other country in the world, with worse outcomes, lower life expectancy and higher infant mortality.
Every day of the campaign Agatha hears a story like Louize's, of hard working people fearing a medical expense that could wipe them out. More than 70% of the American public supports a single-payer solution - yet our lawmakers, including the incumbent Nancy Pelosi, are more responsive to pharmaceutical and health insurance lobbies spending billions ([link removed]) to keep this profits-over-people system intact.
Agatha supports healthcare as a human right. No one - not successful business owners like Louize, not you - should worry that an unexpected illness or accident will financially destroy them. It should not be a necessity for Americans to crowdfund their medical bills on social media. We can do better.
