Nate Silver just wrote that the Senate races are tightening across the map – yet as I write to you, we’re still shy of our must-hit donation goal, and our next big deadline is at midnight.
I need to explain to you why this cannot happen – and why I’m counting on your donation to get us back on track.
But before I do that, I want to express how deeply appreciative I am to have you on my grassroots team. Our fight to protect this seat and control of the Senate is powered by people like you, Friend. People who are committed to fighting back against Trump, McConnell, and GOP extremists everywhere – and who contribute their time and talent to protect every Democratic seat.
The stakes for this midterm election are probably higher than any in modern history. Senate control is split right down the middle, which means there is no room for error. If we lose a single seat, Mitch McConnell will once again call the shots. Enabling his party’s stated plan for a national abortion ban, enacting further limitations on voting rights, nominating and confirming more unqualified and extremist judges to our courts, and shielding Donald Trump from an accountability for his many attempts to undermine the rule of law and our democracy.
My seat has become a GOP target. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is trying to flip this seat, and a right-wing super PAC aligned with my opponent is now spending big on misleading TV ads attacking me. Donald Trump has even been fundraising with my opponent at Mar-a-Lago to try to boost her campaign.
With all we’re up against, we cannot fall short on resources to defend this seat – and it’s YOUR donation that will put us in the strongest possible position to win.
