We need your help to compel the EPA to act.

Dear Friend,
The Supreme Court’s continued attacks on our fundamental rights and the government’s ability to address the crises of today are reason for concern. The Court’s decision to hear Sackett v. Environmental Protection Agency is the next such attack, one that could dramatically weaken the Clean Water Act. The conservative supermajority is eager to enact its radical deregulatory agenda, no matter the costs to our health and the health of our ecosystems.
Despite the bleak trajectory, the Court’s actions — and its lack of accountability — are no reason for cynicism. The federal government still has authority to protect our health and the health of the ecosystems we all depend on. People are drinking dirty water, breathing unhealthy air, and being poisoned by toxic chemicals — and we won’t accept that. The government has a responsibility to all of us to create strong safeguards for our health and our environment.
The EPA has active comment periods on most of these issues — and you can push it to act by clicking here and taking all three actions.

Defend the Clean Water Act
After undercutting the Clean Air Act in West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency, the Supreme Court is turning its attention to the Clean Water Act. It just heard Sackett v. Environmental Protection Agency, a case that may end up gutting the Clean Water Act. In light of this, we need your help to push the EPA to proactively defend clean water.

Chemical Disaster
It’s past time to address “double disasters” — hazardous chemical releases by industrial facilities that can be worsened by inadequate action in the face of climate change and natural disasters. Tell the Environmental Protection Agency to prevent chemical disasters today by finalizing critical new safeguards in the Risk Management Program.

Remove forever chemicals from our daily lives
PFAS are toxic chemicals that can persist in human bodies and in the environment for decades, which is why it is so important to urge the Environmental Protection Agency to classify them as hazardous. Enacted by Congress in 1980, the Superfund law was designed to clean up communities polluted by the kind of toxic contamination that PFAS have created — but PFAS are not currently included as hazardous under the law. Send a letter to the EPA today to show your support for adding PFAS to the Superfund list, and advocate for the cleanup of this public health crisis.

Defend the Arctic Refuge from reckless oil drilling
The fate of the Arctic Refuge remains uncertain. Although President Biden suspended the leases in the Arctic Refuge last year, the state of Alaska remains committed to developing oil. Meanwhile, the law requiring a lease sale in the Refuge is still on the books, mandating yet another lease sale in 2024, and there’s no guarantee that the next administration will keep the lease suspensions in place. We need your help to push for action — now — to protect the Refuge.
