In 2018, Kim's election in Washington's 8th district was one of the most closely contested elections in the country. Republican dark money groups -- from Paul Ryan's super PAC to the National Rifle Association -- spent a combined total of over $5 million to try and beat Kim with vicious attack ads.

But thanks to people like you that supported our campaign, Kim was able to beat the odds and become the first Democrat ever to represent WA-08. We showed the dark money groups that a grassroots campaign funded by small contributions is more powerful than the special interests.
