[1]Charles Booker
Hi, it’s Charles Booker. Here’s what you should know about me:
I’m a lifelong resident of Louisville’s West End, growing up in what has
been one of the poorest zip codes in Kentucky.
Growing up, I experienced the pain of poverty firsthand and saw my mom
skip meals just so I could have enough. I’ve been homeless, and have had
to ration my insulin because I couldn’t afford the medication I needed as
a Type 1 diabetic.
I became the first in my family to graduate from law school and went on to
lead a transformative career across Kentucky, covering every level of
government. I’ve served as a Director of Fish and Wildlife, where I
traveled across the commonwealth and saw that all Kentuckians are united
in their hopes for a better future.
In 2018, I was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives, becoming
the youngest Black state legislator in nearly 90 years.
As a legislator, I’ve fought for the people: common sense gun safety
reform, lower prescription drug prices, expanded voting rights, stronger
labor unions, and for racial justice. I’m a lifelong advocate for local
businesses and working people.
Two years ago, I founded Hood to the Holler, a grassroots organization to
build on the values that have animated my whole life and break down
barriers between Kentuckians and their government.

Kentucky a place where all of us can thrive. Will you help me win by
donating $20 or more to my campaign?

Our campaign for a better Kentucky is built by grassroots supporters like
you. I can’t thank you enough for being in the fight with me.
