John,
On a recent trip to Boston with my Squad sisters, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley introduced us to an incredible organization led by some of the strongest women I have met. They take in the women that our systems turn their backs on.
New Beginnings Re-entry Services offers transitional housing and comprehensive services to assist women in their transition back into their communities after release from incarceration. The group provides support such as trauma counseling, job readiness training, and case management.
This is a model that should be replicated throughout the country. Will you join me in supporting New Beginnings’ continued fight for justice by donating to their urgent work today?
Formerly incarcerated women rarely get support as they re-enter their communities, and are often at risk of homelessness or recidivism. Our society sets up barriers instead of supports, with formerly incarcerated people facing discrimination in housing, employment, healthcare, voting, and more.
That’s why it’s so crucial to have organizations like New Beginnings Re-entry Services, doing vital work for this underserved and marginalized population.
New Beginnings has created resource guidebooks and safe spaces for people to get resources and work through their trauma. They’ve built a strong network of partnerships with nearby schools and employers, so formerly incarcerated women are involved in programs such as culinary school and entrepreneurship training.
I’m inspired by their powerful stories, their support for one another, and their continued fight for justice.
Please donate as generously as you can to help this essential organization give formerly incarcerated women a New Beginning.

Rashida
