I was proud to join the workers of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on the
picket line Thursday because abusive working conditions and attacks on the
free press by conservative ownership only end up kicking good journalists
out of newsrooms.

John, this
isn't just about campaigning for me. In fact, I'm doing what most
political pundits would probably recommend against. I'm refusing all
interviews with the Post-Gazette until after this strike is over because
that's what solidarity means to me.

Unions are one of our greatest tools to reduce inequality, raise wages,
and support better benefits and job protection. In the state legislature,
I've advocated for legislation that supports a livable wage. And in
Congress, I'll work to see the PRO Act become law, pass a Green New Deal
with a union jobs guarantee, raise the minimum wage, and strengthen the
labor movement.

John, this
campaign is about the working families and everyday people of Western
