Wow, Friend — we know that pro-polluter candidates are in the pocket of Big Oil, but they rarely spell it out so clearly.
When asked about the need for environmental protections, Colorado's Republican nominee for Senate, Joe O'Dea, said that he'd
"default to those people that know — oil and gas people."
We've named O'Dea to LCV Victory Fund's
Dirty Dozen, our list of the twelve worst federal anti-environmental candidates on the ballot this year. He's running to replace Senator Michael Bennet, an environmental champion who holds a 97% pro-environment rating in the latest LCV
National Environmental Scorecard.
Right now, we're running a MASSIVE get-out-the-vote (GOTV) campaign to defeat
Dirty Dozen Senate candidates like Joe O'Dea in Colorado, Herschel Walker in Georgia, and Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania.
But, in the final stretch of this campaign, those efforts are still underfunded.
If everyone reading this right now pitched in — even just $5 — our GOTV program could reach every pro-environment voter we need to in these key states. To help us get over the finish line, a group of donors is TRIPLE MATCHING every gift. Can you triple your impact right now?
We're running a
huge media campaign in states like Colorado and Nevada. And we have field organizers talking to voters in Arizona, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and other states.
Here's where our GOTV campaign stands right now:
- 788,725 door knocks
- 128,022 successful contacts with our targeted voters
- 2,779 vote-by-mail sign-ups
- 8,349 commit-to-vote cards collected
- 11,088 vote-tripling sign-ups
These are
incredible numbers, Friend — but the truth is that
they're not yet enough to reach and turn out as many voters as we need to stop pro-polluter candidates from taking control of Congress next year.
That's why, right now, LCV Victory Fund is scaling up a major field organizing effort — working with our state affiliates and partners around the country to knock on at least 1.5 million doors — and a massive Climate Voters Mobilization campaign.
The goal: reach climate voters we've identified as being at risk of not turning out this election. Make sure they have the information they need. And get them to the polls.
But it only works when folks like you pitch in. So we're asking: Please, triple your impact today. Even $5 is enough to make a difference.
17 days left to go. Thank you for everything you're doing to help pro-environment leaders win.
Onward,
