I'm writing to ask if you can make a contribution to Mandela Barnes' campaign for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin. But first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why your contribution is so important — especially today.

Here is the truth:

Defending and expanding the Senate majority depends on what happens in Wisconsin. And right now our job must be to elect more leaders like Mandela who are prepared to stand up for working families and take on big-money interests.

We are living in a moment where the people on top are doing phenomenally well while working people are struggling. We've got more income and wealth inequality today than at any time in the history of this country.

Yet in the midst of this struggle, now is not the time for despair. Now is the time for us to come together and fight back.

I am proud to support Mandela Barnes for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin because he is someone with the guts to take on the billionaire class and large corporations that have so much political and economic power in our country. If we can elect Mandela in November, it will not only help Democrats retain control of the Senate. It will also give us a strong voice fighting for working families.

Mandela is in a very close race against Ron Johnson and he needs your support to have the financial resources to win in November. Because there's only one way we will flip this Senate seat — and that is together.

As you know, Democrats currently control the Senate. But we don't have the votes needed to pass important legislation that the American people want, and that our country needs.

But if we can expand the Senate majority in November by electing Mandela Barnes, we will be in a position to finally have the votes to pass meaningful legislation that addresses the needs of the working class.

Mandela Barnes understands that the rich and large corporations must pay their fair share of taxes.

He understands that we must raise the minimum wage to a living wage of at least $15 an hour.

He understands that we need to lower the outrageous cost of prescription drugs.

He understands that we've got to make childcare, pre-K, and higher education more affordable.

He understands that we've got to defend abortion rights and codify Roe v. Wade into law.

And he understands that we've got to protect the right to vote and ensure all eligible voters can participate in the political process.

If we can elect Mandela Barnes to the Senate, we will have a critical vote to help pass legislation to address a number of important issues.

But if Republicans regain the majority in the Senate, they plan to pass more tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy, a national ban on abortion, and cut Medicare and Social Security. That would be a complete disaster.

With control of the Senate on the line, Mandela Barnes is in a strong position to win a Republican-held seat and expand the majority. But only if people like you stand with him during these final days before Election Day.
