With just two days left in 2019, I’m thinking about all we’ve accomplished this year despite Republican efforts to stonewall any and all progress for the American people.

In 2018, you helped us win back the House through the Blue Wave. Since then, under Democratic leadership in the House, we’ve passed nearly 400 bills. I’ll list just a few that I’m particularly proud to have supported:

• H.R. 1 to strengthen voting rights and fight corruption by establishing automatic voter registration, expanding early voting, banning voter roll purging, changing redistricting practices, increasing disclosure, and reducing the influence of dark money in our elections.
• H.R. 8 to address the gun violence epidemic by finally establishing universal background checks on all gun purchases (supported by 90% of Americans), as well as an amendment in the 2020 federal budget to fund gun violence research for the first time in decades.
• H.R. 3 to reign in Big Pharma and lower prescription drug prices, to make sure no one has to choose between paying the bills or affording the medication they need.

Without the support of people like you at the polls in 2018, we couldn’t have achieved any of this. And we’re just getting started.

Our best chance to get legislation like this passed into law is by holding our majority in the House, taking back the Senate, and electing a new president who will put the interests of the American people before himself.

And the only way we’ll win these major victories next November is by building up our grassroots resources and organizing like never before.
