Africa & Europe
Praise God for a trafficking conviction in Ghana. The judge convicted a 45-year-old fisherman of human trafficking and sentenced the accused to a five-year prison term. He was also ordered to pay compensation of 20,000 Cedis to the victim: a 14-year-old who was trafficked at nine, and who lived and worked with the accused from 2016 until he was rescued in 2021. Pray for the continued healing of the child and for traffickers to repent and give up the practice of enslaving children.
Latin America
Praise God for a recent conviction in El Salvador, where a man was convicted for sexually assaulting 11-year-old Martina*. After 15 months in court, the aggressor received a 21-year sentence – the maximum sentence plus extra time for aggravated circumstances. Praise God for the commitment of our implementing partner who owned this case from start to finish.
South Asia
Please pray for increased police vigilance during this time of year when trafficking typically increases. Now that monsoon season has ended, many businesses that use manual labor—like brick kilns or rock quarries—will be recruiting workers for the upcoming season. Traffickers exploit this season to trap families in these industries for years of forced labor. Pray that our police partners can intercept trafficking before families are enslaved—particularly at train stations, bus routes and other points of transit.
Southeast Asia
Pray for wisdom and guidance as our team in Cambodia searches for a perpetrator. This perpetrator is a major trafficker in the area and was convicted a couple years ago but has been in hiding since. Pray that our team, in partnership with local law enforcement, will be able to locate this perpetrator and bring him to justice so that he can no longer hurt anyone else.
