With a 50-50 split in the U.S. Senate, a single race could decide control of the chamber next year.

Cheri Beasley’s race here in North Carolina is one of Democrats’ best chances to pick up a Senate seat — but national Republicans are determined to do anything it takes to defeat her.

In fact, Cheri was the first Democratic challenger attacked with ads by the GOP’s Senate campaign arm. Her opponent’s super PAC allies are pumping nearly $50 million into this race. The reality is that billionaires and corporate special interests are doing everything they can to try to buy this election and choose our next senator for us. It’s ridiculous, John.
